This Vendor Commission & Payout Policy explains how Nutrychem calculates marketplace commission, processes Vendor earnings, and makes payouts to approved Vendors.
This policy applies to all Vendors selling products through the Nutrychem marketplace.
It should be read together with the Nutrychem Vendor Terms & Conditions, Terms & Conditions, Refund & Returns Policy, and other applicable marketplace policies.
1. Free Vendor Registration for 2026
Nutrychem is offering free Vendor registration for the 2026 calendar year.
This means:
Vendor registration fee: R0
Vendor subscription fee for 2026: R0
Vendors who successfully register and are approved during 2026 can sell on the Nutrychem marketplace without paying a registration or monthly vendor subscription fee during the applicable 2026 promotional period.
This offer does not remove the standard marketplace commission on completed sales.
Nutrychem reserves the right to introduce subscription or registration fees for future periods, subject to reasonable notice and the applicable Vendor agreement.
2. Nutrychem Marketplace Commission
Nutrychem charges a 9% marketplace commission on eligible completed product sales.
The commission allows Nutrychem to maintain and develop the marketplace and provide Vendors with access to the platform, marketplace infrastructure, customer discovery, vendor tools, and business-growth opportunities.
Example
If a customer purchases a product for:
Product sale: R500
Nutrychem commission:
9% = R45
Vendor amount before any other applicable deductions:
R455
The 9% commission is calculated on the applicable sale amount as defined by the marketplace transaction.
3. What the 9% Commission Covers
The marketplace commission contributes towards the operation and development of the Nutrychem marketplace, including areas such as:
- Marketplace platform maintenance;
- Vendor storefront functionality;
- Product listing infrastructure;
- Customer marketplace experience;
- Marketplace administration;
- Vendor support;
- Marketplace marketing;
- Platform technology;
- Marketplace development;
- Business-growth opportunities.
Nutrychem may introduce additional optional paid services that are not included in the 9% marketplace commission.
4. Vendor Sets Their Own Product Prices
Vendors generally determine their own product prices on the Nutrychem marketplace.
Vendors are responsible for ensuring that their listed prices are:
- Accurate;
- Current;
- Clearly displayed;
- Not misleading;
- Inclusive of any applicable requirements under South African law.
Vendors should consider the 9% marketplace commission when setting their retail prices.
5. When Commission Is Charged
Commission applies to eligible sales successfully completed through the Nutrychem marketplace.
Commission is generally calculated when a customer successfully purchases a Vendor’s product and the transaction becomes eligible for payout.
Cancelled, reversed, refunded, or otherwise invalid transactions may be excluded or adjusted in accordance with the applicable marketplace policies.
6. Payout Schedule
Nutrychem’s standard Vendor payout day is:
Every Thursday
Vendors are paid on the following Thursday after the applicable sales period, subject to the transaction being eligible for payout.
For example:
Customer places a qualifying order during the applicable week → Vendor receives the applicable payout on the following Thursday.
The exact time that funds appear in a Vendor’s bank account may vary depending on the payment provider and banking institution.
7. Payout Eligibility
A Vendor must have:
- An approved Nutrychem Vendor account;
- Valid payout information;
- Completed or eligible orders;
- No unresolved issue preventing the payout;
- Complied with applicable marketplace policies.
Nutrychem may delay a payout where reasonably necessary to investigate:
- Refunds;
- Chargebacks;
- Fraud;
- Suspicious transactions;
- Customer disputes;
- Order fulfilment problems;
- Account violations;
- Incorrect banking information.
8. Payout Calculation
The amount paid to the Vendor may be calculated generally as:
Eligible Product Sales − 9% Nutrychem Commission − Applicable Adjustments = Vendor Payout
Applicable adjustments may include amounts relating to:
- Approved refunds;
- Chargebacks;
- Cancelled transactions;
- Payment-processing adjustments;
- Amounts owed to Nutrychem;
- Other authorised marketplace adjustments.
Where no additional adjustments apply, the Vendor receives 91% of the applicable product sale amount before any separately applicable charges.
9. Delivery Fees
Delivery charges are separate from the Vendor’s product price where applicable.
Depending on the delivery arrangement, delivery charges may be paid by the customer, subsidised by Nutrychem, included in a promotion, or otherwise handled according to the applicable checkout arrangement.
The treatment of delivery charges for commission purposes will be displayed or communicated through the applicable marketplace system.
10. Refunds and Returns
If a customer receives an approved refund, the Vendor’s payout may be adjusted accordingly.
Where the Vendor has already received payment for an order that is subsequently refunded, Nutrychem may recover the applicable amount from:
- A future Vendor payout;
- The Vendor’s marketplace balance;
- Another payment method agreed with the Vendor.
Refunds and returns are governed by the Nutrychem Refund & Returns Policy.
11. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
A chargeback occurs when a customer disputes a transaction through their payment provider.
Where a chargeback affects a Vendor transaction, Nutrychem may temporarily withhold the affected amount while the matter is investigated.
If the transaction is ultimately reversed, the Vendor may be responsible for the applicable amount.
12. Failed or Cancelled Orders
Commission will not ordinarily be payable on orders that are legitimately cancelled before completion.
However, where a Vendor has repeatedly accepted orders and failed to fulfil them, Nutrychem may take additional action under the Vendor Terms & Conditions.
This may include:
- Vendor performance review;
- Temporary listing restrictions;
- Reduced marketplace visibility;
- Suspension;
- Termination.
13. Vendor Banking Information
Vendors are responsible for providing accurate payout information.
Incorrect banking information may result in delayed payouts.
Vendors should immediately update their payout information if their banking details change.
Nutrychem will not be responsible for delays caused by inaccurate or outdated information supplied by the Vendor.
14. Payout Notifications
Nutrychem may provide Vendors with information relating to their earnings through the Vendor dashboard, email, or other marketplace communication channels.
Depending on marketplace functionality, Vendors may be able to view:
- Sales;
- Orders;
- Commission;
- Refunds;
- Adjustments;
- Pending payouts;
- Completed payouts;
- Available balances.
15. Vendor Sales Records
Vendors are responsible for keeping appropriate business and financial records of their marketplace activity.
Nutrychem may provide transaction information through the Vendor dashboard or other available reporting tools.
Vendors remain responsible for their own:
- Accounting;
- Tax obligations;
- Financial records;
- Business expenses;
- Regulatory obligations.
Nutrychem does not provide tax or accounting advice.
16. Taxes
Vendors are independent businesses and are responsible for determining and meeting their own tax obligations arising from sales made through Nutrychem.
This may include applicable:
- Income tax;
- VAT;
- Business taxes;
- Other legally required taxes or reporting obligations.
Vendors should obtain professional tax advice where necessary.
17. Promotional Pricing
Nutrychem may offer marketplace promotions, discounts, campaigns, or special offers.
Where a promotion affects a Vendor’s product price or payout, the applicable terms will be communicated to the Vendor where reasonably practicable.
Vendors will not be required to participate in a paid promotion unless the applicable promotional arrangement has been agreed to or otherwise expressly provided for under the Vendor agreement.
18. Future Subscription Fees
The free-registration promotion applies to 2026.
Nutrychem may introduce a Vendor subscription or registration fee after the promotional period.
Any future subscription pricing and applicable benefits will be communicated to Vendors before the fee becomes applicable.
The introduction of a future subscription fee does not change the 9% marketplace commission unless Nutrychem separately communicates a change.
19. Changes to Commission
Nutrychem may review its commission structure as the marketplace grows.
Any material change to the standard marketplace commission will be communicated to Vendors with reasonable notice.
Unless otherwise communicated, the standard Nutrychem marketplace commission remains:
9%
20. Payout Delays
Nutrychem aims to process Vendor payouts according to the Thursday payout schedule.
However, payouts may occasionally be delayed because of:
- Banking processing;
- Payment-provider issues;
- Public holidays;
- Technical problems;
- Fraud investigations;
- Chargebacks;
- Refund disputes;
- Incorrect Vendor information;
- Events outside Nutrychem’s reasonable control.
Where a Thursday falls on a public holiday or payment-processing day is unavailable, the payout may be processed on the next available business day.
21. Account Suspension and Outstanding Payouts
If a Vendor account is suspended or terminated, Nutrychem may hold amounts reasonably required to resolve:
- Outstanding customer refunds;
- Chargebacks;
- Disputes;
- Fraud investigations;
- Unfulfilled orders;
- Other amounts legitimately owed.
Once applicable issues have been resolved, eligible remaining funds may be released in accordance with the applicable payment and marketplace procedures.
22. No Hidden Marketplace Commission
Nutrychem’s standard marketplace commission is:
9% per eligible product sale.
Any additional fees for optional services will be separately identified where applicable.
Optional services may include:
- Advertising;
- Featured product placement;
- Product photography;
- Branding;
- Packaging design;
- SEO;
- Digital marketing;
- Content creation;
- Training;
- Other business-growth services.
A Vendor will not automatically be charged for these optional services simply because they participate in the marketplace.
23. Vendor Growth Model
Nutrychem’s marketplace is designed to help independent product businesses grow.
The marketplace may provide opportunities for Vendors to access:
- Marketplace exposure;
- Marketing campaigns;
- Educational resources;
- Business-growth content;
- Branding support;
- Packaging support;
- Digital marketing;
- Product photography;
